L.A. Packing, Crating and Transport has been chosen by museum professionals for over 30 years as experts in handling fine art, specializing in installation, museum quality crating, world wide shipping, air-ride climate controlled storage of all types and sizes of artwork, artifacts, precious objects, antiques, ceramics, and museum collections.

Jimmy Isenson founded L.A. Packing, Crating and Transport in 1978. While earning his degree in history, Jimmy was drawn to the burgeoning art movement in California and worked part time in an art gallery as a preparator. After finishing college he became the director of a well respected California contemporary art gallery. For the next ten years Jimmy worked closely with the artists who showed their work at the gallery. Based upon his understanding of the care required in handling artwork, Jimmy developed unique methods of packing and handling art to ensure its safety during shipping and installation and began packing and crating work for the artists represented in the gallery and for gallery clients. As the demand for his services grew, he started L.A. Packing, Crating and Transport.

Over the next 30 years the company has grown to more than 50 people who are experienced in all aspects of handling art and precious objects, many of whom started with Jimmy in the beginning years. Services to the art community have expanded to include crating, transportation, installation of art of all sizes, museum exhibition coordination and worldwide shipping and customs services. L.A. Packing, Crating and Transport has 100,000 square feet of climate controlled and non-climate controlled storage, gallery viewing, photography and conservation facilities.

Clients include artists, art consultants, auction houses, collectors, corporations, designers, galleries, museums, foundations, and trust administrators. Many of the artists of the seventies who were Jimmy's first clients, now the icons of the contemporary art world, continue to choose L.A. Packing, Crating and Transport to do their work exclusively.
